Musicman neck finish

one of my US Fender Strats has had the back of the neck rubbed down a bit, but not refinished. I really like the feel of MM necks, how easy/difficult would it be to do this to a Strat neck?

I believe they're stripped back to wood, then truoiled with at least 3 coats (allowing for 24hrs drying, then 0000 wire-wooling back between each coat) then finished with birchwood casey gunstock wax. 

Have done it to two of my guitars and love it.

Whenever you use wire wool remember to tape up your pickups.  Otherwise the stray bits of wire wool will get stuck to your pickups and it isn't very good for them.
