Here's the post-"I didn't list it on Ebay after all as predicted" bump.  Even with the offer of £1 final value fees.

So, just to answer some of the frequently asked questions:

    What's the neck profile?

It's the shape of the neck on the opposite side to the fretboard itself.

    What does it weigh?

It doesn't weigh anything.  To weigh stuff you need some scales.  Should you be buying a guitar if you don't know it's function?

Why does it only have four strings?

It's a bass, stupid.  This section is all about the bass, 'bout the bass, no treble.

    Where are you located?

I'm in the kitchen using the laptop.  Not that it's any of your business.

    Will you post?

I'm posting this message right now, and I posted the messages thus far in the thread, so yes I post.  Probably too much.

    What condition is it in?

Well, it's not out of shape yet despite not jogging or going to the gym.

Will you hold this guitar until after some arbitrary time limit such as payday (that never seems to come)?

No, because I need my hands to do other tasks in the meantime, and holding a guitar for that long will make my arms hurt.

    Trades?

Of course. I'm prepared to trade for actual cash.

I'm on a cloud of joy and happiness as I guitar I wanted has arrived and I'm happier than a porcine in a lovely warm straw filled sty.

So make me an offer, I'm full of kindness and generosity.

  • How far are you from Scopwick? I can't remember the date but I've got to go there in a couple of weeks and I know that's in Lincolnshire!
    How old is it BTW?

That's about 30 miles away if that helps.  Don't know how old, but will look for you. :)

  • Well, don't hold it for me yet as the decision hasn't been made but it's looking possible. It's a 300 mile round trip to Scopwick  ( or something like that) so an extra 30 seems doable.

I've zoomed in on your photo but can't be sure, does it still have protective film over the scratchplate?

I hadn't forgotten this, went to GG today and tried a few things out. They had a Sub 4 on the wall and really nice. My son, however, has decided he needs something with Jazz type pick ups ( or at least very similar) because he rests his thumb on the pick up so much.
Anyway, we put it back and looked at some other stuff. Someone else came in and in a room full of basses from £200 to £2000 ( well, and more) the first thing he picked up was the Sub 4.
I really liked the Sub 4 but as it's primarily for my son now got to look  for a used Squier VM Jazz or similar.
    GLWTS.
