After a long layoff from playing resonators (old Nationals and newer NRPs that have all gone to fund nice flat tops and a couple of kids...) I felt the pull of dormant resophonia so I bought a Michael Messer "Blues" (steel body single cone). I'd had one before but these new ones are quite a step up in feel.

Here's a clip, complete with not-what-it-was-but-starting-to-come-back-to-me reso playing....

    Superb playing there, Sir.

I've got a Busker Delta - which is essentially the same guitar. I agree they're in a different league to most cheaper resonators.

Nice one Lewy. That smokey grey looks great, nice playing too. I'm after a resonator for my boys 18th birthday, he doesn't like any of the Messer range looks sadly... Michael himself has been very helpful with general chat.

  • Very, very nice. Both playing and the MM.

I've just bought a Gretsch Honey Dipper from Thomann (395 euros! They're about £625 here) and absolutely in love with it - in fact i cant see me going back to electric any time soon...

Thanks for the comments. Really enjoying this guitar. Resos need proper playing in to reach their potential but the ingredients certainly seem to be there with this.
