SOLD - Yamaha QY700 MIDI sequencer
This is an "old-fashioned" MIDI sequencer, with no unnecessary
cleverness to get in your way, the last and best that Yamaha ever made.
It can store up to 110,000 notes, over 48 tracks (32 Linear, 16
Pattern). It can hold up to 20 songs in its internal flash memory and
can save your files to floppy.
By far away the best feature is the huge screen and brilliant control
layout. The screen is big enough to properly show mixer, event lists,
track data, FX controls and - uniquely for a standalone MIDI
sequencer - a piano roll editor. So editing is super easy.
(Note the screen is fine, but my photos have coloured bands across
them - it's just from using the camera without using the flash.)
It has 2 MIDI INs and 2 MIDI OUTs for connecting to external synths.
That's where it comes into its own - I've had this driving a Nord Lead
(4 channels on MIDI OUT A) and a Korg Triton (a separate 16 channels
on MIDI OUT
, and timing is rock solid.
But if you just want to use it as a self-contained sketchpad, you need
nothing else - there's a built-in keyboard and pitch bend and mod wheel,
and the internal synth has 64 notes of polyphony, based on Yamaha's AWM
sounds.
In great condition, working perfectly and with the power adaptor and both printed manuals.
Price: £250 plus £9 shipping to mainland UK (or collect from Cambridge)
