Price for 2015/16 Gibson Keb Mo Bluesmaster

I've got chance of buying a  2015/16 Gibson Keb Mo Bluesmaster. It's the sort of guitar I'm looking for (parlour, 50s look).

Described as: "2015/16 keb mo bluesmaster L-OO with case and paperwork mint condition"

What sort of price should I aim to be paying?

I've been watching the (rare) few that have come up on ebay recently. Seem to be asking between £1300 - £1600. Not that many about so the question is how much are you prepared to pay?

Well, I'm not desperate to buy this specific guitar.

I'm generally looking for something like the one Chris Stapleton plays, which is a Gibson LG-2:



I've not got anything specific in mind - this one just came up locally.

I'm also looking at a nice Martin 00-17S:

Sounds like you've been looking at the exact same guitars as I was a few months back!
Might be worth deciding if you want a 12 or 14 fret body join and going from there. Not that many options at the higher price points. Martin and Gibson both seem to have dropped guitars from their range they were doing a couple of years back. I'd love a Keb Mo but out of my price range right now sadly. Been looking at the Gretsch G5111.

Some believe that 12 fret guitars sound sweeter because the bridge is in a different place compared to a 14 fretter, and it's worth the loss of upper fret access for that. Others choose 12 fretters because they want a more vintage vibe, and often those models come with slotted headstocks etc.

I like 12 fret guitars for country blues bottleneck playing because the body join is a nice non-visual reference point for slide playing up at the octave.
