Tremolo Problems, advice required

Hi Folks

So I have a nice boutique tremolo however I've noticed a speaker thump when engaged and a slight tremolo bleed when not engaged....This has coincided with getting a new, louder, amp and I've not used the pedal for a while so it's hard to tell if I've maybe just not noticed it in the past.

Guessing it doesn't sound right eh? Just wondering if it's a quirk with tremolo pedals or if I should seek out a repair.

Thanks folks

Boutique doesn't always mean good. A lot of them have really crappy switches.

I remember that Steve Morse where he's demonstrating his pedalboard and some of them really pop and he says something like 'that's the sound of true bypass.'

Tremolos sometimes need to be first in the chain ( although that's rarely where they're wanted)or at least to have a buffered pedal in front of them. I have no technical explanation but it does seem to cure some problems.
