SOLO of the Month #28 - Chat (This one is going to mess with your head)

This is the 28th SOLO of the Month (SotM) Challenge, being run by @Antique_Guitars and @TTony. 

We give you a new backing track to solo over every month. The backing track will be a maximum of 1.5mins long. 

You download the track from our soundcloud page, record your solo over the top of it and then submit it to us.

 
Challenge #28 is now open, and remains open for submissions until 24th June. 

Voting opens on the 25th of the month, and closes on the last day of the month when the winner will be announced.

This should be fun. It's labelled as 120 bpm but it seems like 90 bpm to me. Am I hearing it wrong?

One listen and feeling stumped.  My usual fire it down, go with instinct approach might work so well here...hmm.

Listened again tonight, still couldn't hear anything.  Grabbed the new Ibanez RG652, fired up the Kemper, gave it a few runs through and put down an effects-soaked load of noise.  I could have left a bit more space really and definitely tidied up a few bits but, as always, went with instinct as best as possible.

Sent in!  Got the usual mail delivery return email.

Just sent mine.  Tried to use a mode I haven't really played around with before.  I think it sounds OK.  Guess we'll see .  Still, at least I learnt something!

@ChrisRG That's what I love about this challenge. I twice listened and walked away before taking a deep breath and just doing it. I skipped one a few months back for no good reason and intend to stick to having a go. Sadly, I think the packing up of the man cave and house sale might impede me for a long while

I wish I worked that quickly.  I listened to this a few times before picking up a guitar, then I had to learn the scale before trying to come up with some ideas.  Although the actually recording was one take, it took me ages to get to the point where I was happy with the solo.
Looking forward to hearing yours @imalrightjack.  Hope the house sale goes through quickly.

Thanks, @ChrisRG. At least you picked up a guitar after listening. I just thought, "Eh?" and gave up at first! 

I always avoid the playlist until they're all in but intrigued to hear the results.
