Drilling trem hole posts

what's the technique? Drill small holes and gradually enlarge with a bunch of drill bits? Drill a pilot then dive in with final size? Something else?

Don't think.... my drill press won't reach, I know I'll stick a 10mm bit in my router and plunge down....

I generally use a pillar drill with a depth stop and use a drilling template.
How large a hole are you drilling?

Can't recall off the top of my head. It's a Fishman Powerbridge so roughly like a 2 point strat trem.

I've done that without a pilot hole, just using a drilling template, again with a pillar drill.
