    Around £245 upwards. (£149 for a ukulele.)

The single open gear tuners look great... pity I don't own anything worthy of them!

Indeed.   I would be interested to see how much is handmade, but its easy to see a fair bit of time going into each tuner.

Its only £40 per tuner ;)

thank god China is willing to make things cheaply for the rest of the world because I definitely can't afford them

Robsons are excellent tuners, very smooth and precise but I think they are more suited to 'showcase'/marquee instruments as they are very ornate/fancy.

FWIW, I don't think they are over priced for the quality they offer, I think USA built Waverley tuners which for an open gear 3 on a plate set would set you back around the same and they are terrible, terrible tuners  - stiff/lacking smoothness and so on.  There are some other companies who's tuners I have owned use around the £100 or more who have been really poor as well.

In terms of price to quality ratio, Gotoh are tough to beat, many consider their 510 series to provide the best performance available any price.
