Don't forget you are already rich- your only 35.
Warren Buffett is worth billions but he is in his mid 80s. Would you swap?

    would he swap with you?
    like a shot!

There's an awful lot more to life than money.

No but I would like to be more comfortable than I am.

Like many I don't like my job that much, but I am trying to be sensible rather than jump from job to job like I used to. But I'm not happy it's work work work go home be tired do household stuff get in 30 mins guitar playing if I am lucky then repeat. then the weekend flies buy and i do it all again. I don't want to do this for the rest of my life.

but in the meantime I want money to clear off what debts I have so I can make a change.

I have an idea for this sort of thing. Something I keep pondering it's perhaps time to give it a go rather than keep thinking about it.

    Invest in property.
I don't have the money to do so unfortunately
Neither did we- there is often a way though.

I'm not going to what we did but lets say that sometimes people finance house deposits with personal loans.
You might pay 10% interest on that amount but if the capital growth on the whole amount is better than, say 5%, then you won't have lost money in the long term.
Once you have one it is much easier to get a second BTL and then a third, and so on.
I feel like until brexit s fine and dusted it might not be a good time to buy though.

I agree that now is not the right time to buy.
But in the long term property is a pretty good bet.

    Easy way to make money.

Covers duo - less people to share around, but solo giging is lonely
    Teach guitar
Get dep gigs for a function band (less rehearsing, no hassle but good money)
Enter all the competitions you can, I know someone who earns his living selling his prizes... he enters 1000's of competitions a week

Ways to save money by marginal gains...

    Never buy on credit
Don't smoke - drink a bit at home
    do 30 degree washes
    switch off, not stand buy
    buy discount food
Buy 2nd hand clothes (especially for kids)
Get an economical and cheap to maintain car

    etc, etc

Show some enthusiasm at work or step up the game and make yourself known to the people who should know you. If they don't know you exist, you aint going anywhere. Show initiative, show determination and show them that you want to earn more money. What that looks like depends on your expectations. There are jobs that have a ceiling. If you are at that, look for something else.

Take opportunities at work, work for opportunities! Genuinely work hard and don't just think you work hard. You be amazed how many people think they are hard working, model employees, that are actually lazy, incompetent or both and spend lot so of time on the internet, smoking or having coffee breaks....

I have done well at work, simply because everyone else is a fucktard.

I perform magic. Mostly at kids parties, but occasionally at dinner party and award type events.
I've been playing with sleight of hand since I was about 19, 90% card stuff and impromptu (or as close to as possible). Got started by being interested in how to cheat at poker, which I wouldn't do, but then learned simple stuff like the Biddle trick, Ashers twist etc. Pretty handy now if I do say so myself, used to be a massive dick and always try to hustle drinks at clubs. Pretty easy to do but a bit embarrassing looking back on it, I'm of the opinion now that it's only really cool to do tricks if the opportunity literally falls into your lap; maybe if someone else is doing some shitty card trick or you're at a game of poker. Having said that I'll  normally have a pack of cards/a poker  a chip in one of my pockets. I was called Magic Dave at one job! I find simple stuff gets the best reactions often as anything long winded gets a bit cliché. Muscle Pass done properly takes a long time to learn but most people are amazed at the whole 'falling up' thing. Clipshift normally flips people out if you can do it completely invisibly especially if it's a reveal. Anyway, I'm inadvertently attempting to turn this into a magic thread which isn't my intention. Be fascinated to know a bit more about your gig though. What's the money like? There was a professional card magician at a work party once doing the rounds, ended up having a bit of a magic off in the corner which was fun but not what he was being paid for! He gave me his card but lost it so never chased it up. Do tell more... PM me if it's frowned upon deviating too much from the OP question :)

    Alakazam!

I was a specialist BTL broker/advisor a few years ago. It was unregulated at the time so less stressful than regular mortgages, don't know if it still is though. Game will have changed now but it's true you can make a killing with the right advice and if it's good advice then with less initial investment than many might guess.

Chap I know does Betterware - started off doing it himself and now has distributors working for him. Seems to be pretty successful at it.

Learn to code - you'll never be short of work and can earn 400+ per day easily once you know your stuff, particularly if you can combine this with business/domain knowledge. Massive demand in analytics and data science atm, paying upwards of 700 per day.

Where would be the best place to learn to code? Some form of IT College or can you do it online these days. I have googled it but was genuinely interested in what you thought was the best way?

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

W3Schools for web development. Everyone under 21 can code and they still can't find jobs so I don't think it's the path to riches that is being suggested.

Cheers dude. Yeah didn't think it would be in a lot of ways, I don't think there is an easy way to make mega riches without some form of hard work. I'm interested more from a personal perspective tbh, always interested me from my early days as a kid typing in endless lines of code into C64's and Amstrads!!

That's completely untrue and recommending W3schools is terrible advice!

The skills shortage is why people who *can* actually code, and not copy and paste a bit of HTML and Javascript, get paid very well.

The money is currently in analytics, machine learning and AI, particularly if you can combine this with domain knowledge and the ability to craft a proof of concept.

There is no easy way to riches, you have to be learning and thinking about solving problems constantly. Unless you found a successful start-up you won't get rich, but you'll earn decent money.

People who can code but can't independently craft a prototype or MVP will get paid much less.

I would recommend starting with Python, lots of good courses on Udemy.

You can go down the Web developer route but that's a more crowded market.
