looks just like an SG Special that they made plenty of over recent years - can't see a pic of the serial number to establish an age but would guess 5-10 years or so old - effectively a trimmed down version of the SG Standard - so transfer for the logo and no inlay - No fingerboard binding - basic inlays on fingerboard/headstock facia - Generally came in a gig bag and no case

They did a cheaper version again with a satin finish but that one had the gloss finish

SG Special. Just like mine although mine was made in 2004. Great guitars - even better if you change the pickups, IMHO.

I think I have seen some with covers before - fading memory - but granted many will have had open coils

I paid £449 for mine with a Gibson hardcase in 2005 (although it was s/h, it might as well have been new as it was unplayed). I'd imagine it would be in the same region today, as these are a touch nicer than the satin finished fadeds and the tributes.

you can stiil buy a new SG Std for £999 - so a used version would be around £799/750 - based on clean and in a store - So I'd put an SG Special Gloss around £600ish in a store and less on a private sale - again subject to Gibson case or gig bag

Great guitars. I have a 2010 SG special with added pick up covers. though I am considering to change the pickups.

it has the thickest neck of any of my guitars but I really like it. Lovely guitar. I wasn't a big SG fan until I bought this but really enjoy it. I may get another.

It's how an SG looks best if you ask me, dots, and no binding (though I like them with a small pickguard even more)
