My laptop died and my 10 year old PC is on it's last legs.
But I am getting up to date.
I have just got my first tablet thanks to receiving a gift voucher recently.

It runs on Android Marshmallow and I have plenty of storage potential with an SD card option.
I have not used any apps previously on my  iPhone as the memory was too limiting.
I'm looking for recommendations for great apps.

Song charts & chord / lyric sheets.

Recording.

Music players (Spotify is pre-installed but I'm not sure they pay a fair deal to artists).

Other / miscellaneous ...

For song charts and chord/Lyric sheets, Songbook is worth a look for $10.

I've got a free tuner and a metronome app.  They were both free - various options available.

From all I've heard, Android isn't great for recording.

Ireal pro is good for learning songs. I've never really tried recording with mine.. I'll give it a go

Funny, I was just wondering about the same thing, this very day.

I've just started using my Android phone, which has sat untouched for 18 months since I bought it because I don't understand smartphones and find them intimidating.  Thus far I only have Spotify on it because I wanted a music player.  I have a tablet as well but don't really use it. Untapped resources....

I use DaTuner Lite as a decent, free tuner, Ultimate Guitar Tabs for access to tabs, it also has a chord library and metronome function.

I tried out their Tonebridge app, which claims to give realistic guitar tones when combined with am iRig of AmpKit interface, but my phone's not compatible, as Crunchman said, Android can be a bit hit and miss with regards to audio latency

It's a better deal than radio, but not as good as if you bought their CD. Unless you played the CD a lot.

    Thanks all.
    Don't really need a tuner.

I know Songster etc from online usage. Songster I fin more reliable than the others.

I can view my home made chord charts for songs using my doc which are uploaded to Google Drive.
I was looking for something with a song-to-view format and the option to rest the key I transposing or using a capo.
Or an app that allows me to enter this easily ... As easily as typing in to a word doc.

Good to know Spotify aren't as bad as I thought. It's a great way of discovering new music ... When it plays some similar song to those you've searched in a 'radio' format.

    Okay.
    I now have Songbook.
It may be a great long term app to have.
Shot term I need to convert all of my word doc song and chord charts to chordpro format then edit them.
    What a pain.
And I'm struggling to find online chordpro format chord charts too for any new songs I want.
Does anyone have any handy hints for this?
Or is it just suck it up and put in the work converting everything?

Amazing Slow Downer for learning songs.  Set and memorise loops, change pitch for old analogue recordings, slow down to acceptable speed to learn solos etc.

Only downside is the Windows app and Android app don't share presets.

@close2u - sorry about the delay in replying.  I've been on holiday.  The format that OnSong (unfortunately Apple only) uses is very similar to the Chordpro format, so if you search for an OnSong file, it might save a lot of work.
