Has anyone tried one of these?

There are various versions both 4 and 6 fret at varying prices on Amazon.  Reviews range from one star "crap" to 5-star "great for practicing".
I am tempted to think that as long as you know what you are getting it may be OK.  I am thinking of something for when on holiday.

    i bought one. sent it back straight away! its not what you think it will be. I don't get how that will help any guitarist. but its totally up to you. maybe try yourself, amazon do have a returns policy

    I decided not to, so I have just had 2 weeks of "mental practice" only :) on holiday.  Oh well, should turn out alright for the Fretboard Jam tomorrow!
