Chord of the week 22/2/14 - open-position add9 chords

Lush-sounding, add9 chords have the formula 1 3 5 9: eg Cadd9 would be C E G D. As the 9th is the same note as the 2nd degree of the scale, they are often re-arranged so the 9 sits below the 3, making them hard-ish to play but well worth the extra effort, good for power ballads and singer-songwriter stuff! Here are all the open-position add9 chords I can think of -

Bbadd9: x10311

Badd9: 79x809

Cadd9: x32030 or x32033

Dadd9: xx0252 or xx0975

Ebadd9: x65066

Eadd9: 024100 or 022102

Fadd9: 103213 or x87068

x02200  for A5add9  or Asus2 depending on how you view such things.

I treat minor and major chords distinctly - the day of madd9 chords will come!

Love add 9 chords.  Glad you've provide some more interesting voicings here, I like having droney open strings too so that's awesome.

@ThePrettyDamned ; if you like add9 then you should try using some add6, 5add7 etc chords
