How do you mean?  Tape where?  I'm imagining a two inch wide band of duct tape around my head like Rab C Nesbitt.
Make sure it goes over your mouth too.

Hey, you've just given me an idea for a combined sex toy and throne thumper for drummers.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

The Shures normally come with the soft foam and hard foam buds of different sizes, I like the hard rubber ones, looped over ear and then small bit of tape stops em coming out. Some people like a little lube :)      :-1:

have you tried all of the different tips and none of them make a good seal? I got like 10 different ones with mine
I had the same set of tips but I've only tried one size so far. It's not that they don't make a good seal but that they hurt after an hour.  I also don't like the pulling of the weight of the wire on the back of my head - it keeps pulling them out slightly.

I wonder if silicone sealant would work and whether it would harm my ear while curing ?
You can shape the firmer bits near the actual drivers so they hook onto your ears and relieve the weight

@stickyfiddle Are you talking about the squeezy yellow foam ones?
The ones that came with mine were a dark grey. I have three different sizes

Yeah, I've got those too.  However, experimenting last night I discovered a likely reason for them hurting...  the two halves of the plastic casing on the left one (and a bit on the right too) did not line up perfectly.  There was a tiny lip / ridge that was irritating my ear.  A quick Dremel later and I think I may have sorted it.  Only time will tell.  I'll find out on Wed when I use them at band practice for several hours.
