Pictures at an Exhibition was always a favourite. Haven't listed to any classical for ages.

Tough to choose a whole classical piece.

Barber's Adiagio for strings / Angus Dei (from his mass)

Close second is I Hear The Water Dreaming by Toru Takemitsu - first clocked this on Classic FM on a long drive home, beautiful music.

I wish you'd said that at the beginning. I was trying to rack my brains to come up with a complete work.

  • I've honestly not heard enough.... As cliche as this may be, I love moonlight sonata. Always have ever since it was played in the first scenes of the resident evil game..!

Sibelius 4th. I've said it before in this type of thread - Sibelius is, for me, the composer who paints pictures in my head with his music. I love the bleak other-worldliness of this symphony.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

If you're asking about Classical Music as a broad description of composed Music then I would say Mahler's 9th.
If you're asking about the specific Classical Period then I would probably say Mozart's Requiem.

This one’s easy - Steve Reich’s ‘Music For 18 Musicians.” Nothing like it.
