Kinda expected us all to have a similar take on it but my points are distributed thusly:
5 Points - @ChrisRG  - great sound and microtonal bends which fit perfectly with the theme
3 Points - @Bellycaster ; - Love the build up at the beginning and then those big bold clean chords
1 Point - @Veganic ;; - This is a mad mix of bagpipe drones and weird harmonies - the end is mad too that noise - like a weak version of sunn o)))

5 points @Vaiai  Good melodies and drone note effects. It didn't sound like it was plonked on top to me
3 points @Bellycaster  Nice chords and eastern flavours
1 points @DulcetJones  The slide type lines fitted well with the mood

    It's not a competition.

  • 5 Points - @ChrisRG  Nailed it down with a very sitar-like sound plus some nice subtle effects.

      3 Points -
@danishbacon ;  Love how it sounded more like country/western despite the backing track.  Cool.

1 Point -  @stratman3142 ;  I was impressed with the tone right off the start, nice build up to the end.

This was a hard one to vote in, everybody pulled out some incredible ideas and playing over a very challenging, yet simple backing track.  Kudos for getting everyone out of their comfort zone.

  • I never knew there was a common backing track for the solo competition. That makes it a lot easier to just plug in and join in without having to do backing yourself... who does the backing tracks?

This was a difficult one to sound original without resorting to safe notes which can add to drone. Great entries!

By the way am I allowed to vote even if I don't make an entry...?

    1. @ChrisRG - lovely. Nice sound and ideas that kept the interest alive.

    2. @stratman - your one stuck in my mind while listening to the rest and never left. Also never knew you could play like that.

    3. @modellista - loved the bluesy slant and the cheeky slide at the end ;)

  • Good to hear some different takes on this track and some wonderful crazy tones too. Here goes:

5 Points @Vaiai Great flowing melody fitted great with the track

3 Points @stratman3142 I liked the eerie feel to that, some superb note choice to bring out a dissonant quality of the track.

1 Point @ChrisRG Nice authentic feel and good Sitar type tone.
