A few interesting bit's up for grabs here.

Dimarzio Very Metal. Rare as a very rare thing in excellent condition. As far as I can make out, this is a slightly modified Rat. Great as a dirty boost or as a high gain distortion, it does that thing you want. Quite versatile really.

Boss OD-1, long dash, silver screw. So a couple of things about this one. The battery clip is missing and at some point the power socket polarity was reversed. No idea why. I'll include a reversal adaptor with it.
Really good condition and sounds awesome.

Boss DM-2, well used but amazing.
Not much to say about this really. Don't expect crystal clear long delays. This is fat and will give you slightly less than 300ms. Brilliant classic delay though. Has "that" chip".

Remarkable. I have a long-dash silver screw OD-1 which has the serial number 9600! I think mine has an NEC 4558 chip rather than a JRC as well.

Seems like that number is more general than an actual serial number, but the two pedals must have left the factory at around the same time.

You are correct. They're batch numbers. It's not known how many in each batch I believe. I think I have a CS-1 with the same number.

Cool. Thanks. I’m still kicking myself over selling the rare 14 pin version I had last year! Enjoy...

How did you find the OD-1?

  • To my ears it sounds a tiny bit fuller sounding than an old TS-808 I had? could be wrong though

Its not as transparent as some of the newer low gain drives and doesn’t clean up as well on backing off. Does colour the tone in a nice sort of way. Enough gain on tap but not harsh at all. Will probably sound better with some guitars / amps than others. But when you find the right combination of gear and settings, its a great rhythm / lead tone. Take your time to experiment.
