I love this band- Chucks voice is brilliant. Their previous album was superb too.

The Harry Styles and Nial Horan from one direction are actually good albums, some very good songs on there.
I've got the Harry Styles one too - I would say it's good, rather than great. I bought Rag 'n' Bone Man's album on the same day, and to my surprise I prefer the Styles one.

I also have Lorde's Melodrama, of the others mentioned. I haven't really listened to it enough to tell for sure yet, but I think it's better than her first one.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

    "Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson

I think that's really fair, I actually think the majority of songs are "great" the execution, good, in that an artist I like better playing those songs I'd have loved, still a strong album though, I recommend you try the Nial Horan one, a little less intense and more natural, a tad more easy listening, but some well crafted songs too.

Forgot to mention Migration by Bonobo, listening again to it this morning it's really good. Great to see some love for Slowdive, think that is a terrific album.

Going to check out some of your recs, very handy having an Emusic subscription as I need to download 5 albums a month.

Rosetta - Utopioid. Probably their best output.

Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real - Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real is a good album.

Although some of his songs have been worsened by the background vocals. When they were recorded before they had a really raw sound but now they don't have quite the same effect.

The main example is Find Yourself, which now has Lady Gaga doing background vocals.

I disagree, I find that the average quality of the songs on Melodrama are higher than that of Pure Heroine, but there aren't any standout tracks.

On the other hand, Pure Heroine has some really good ones.

    Power Trip - Nightmare Logic
I've been listening to the Power Trip a lot this week and I'm finding it's an album which my appreciation grows with each additional listen; there's a lot of depth, complexity to their material.

    It's a superb album.
It's the only album from a new band that I've rated.

Made better by by the fact that my 17yr old loves them, too.

Looking forward to seeing them next year in London.
