Do I need Phantom Power?

Picked up a mic for general messing around/practice but I'm clueless about them. The mic is a Peavey Low Z, same as this one

Does it need phantom power or could I just get an XLR to 1/4" cable for it?

It's for general dicking around and practice for the  Northampton Jam where I foolishly said I'll sing. as long as it works I'm happy, plus it's impossible for me to be any cooler than I am already.

I'd be very surprised if they don't have mics and cables already

Flagged this up for CID and child protection, or should that be the RSPCA?

The only thing I would add is that if you have an interface or mixer with XLR inputs, you're better off using an XLR - XLR cable.

The practice rooms do have mics, but I suspect they come with free singer germs all over them as well. Can you contract anything dodgy from a shared mic ;-)
    Karma......

Singing is a bonus, just reciting the words in time to the music is the assumed level! I just shout them out.
