Problem with Presonus Capture (used with AR16)

I have seen some old messages about this error on the Presonus forum, but none of the previous solutions works for me.

I have an AR16. I can record individual tracks in Studio One. I have previously recorded multiple tracks with Capture, and not deliberately changed anything, but trying to use Capture now fails with the message "Capture can not create new sessions if the audio device is stereo".

I have downloaded the latest versions of Capture and the driver for the AR16. I've switched the AR16 off and on, and rebooted the system - but no change.

At the bottom of the Capture window the default device is StudioLive AR, and also in the Options window.

In Windows Settings, AR16 is the default sound device for recording and playback. Playback works ok. Recording in Studio One works ok, only thing that doesn't work is Capture.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately that is exactly what I tried before calling on the good citizens of the Fretboard.

Ok, I’ll keep looking

I eventually solved this (by accident). There are two USB 3 ports on my PC. One works attached to a printer, iPhone etc - but not the Presonus mixer. The other works with everything - including the Presonus mixer. By swapping the USB ports used by the mixer and printer, it stared to work.

Just noted this response...personally I don't use my Mac for anything other than the music recording....i.e no other hardware connected.....can cause issues.
