Help me attach my Mic Shockmount to my Desktop stand

Is it just me? Am I being a bit dense here?

I have a Chord CCM1 condensor mic with shock mount ... one of these:

The shockmount didn't fit ..

The shockmount doesn't fit.


Is this a metric / imperial thing?

Is it me?

Are they all the same?

You might find there's a screw in collar in the mic, which is already in place on the mic stands. Look on the bottom of the mic / it's mount fixing and try undoing it with a coin. Or do the opposite to the stands.

Thanks @Legionreturns but neither mic stand nor shock mount seem to have anything that unfastens / unscrews / reverses.

Any chance you can put up photos of the various connectors? These things are generally one of two standards.

You might also be missing the adaptor, which you can buy for a couple of quid from Maplins or somewhere like that. Maybe take everything into your local one and see what they've got

Right... In this one: 

That very end bit unscrews. It may be very tight but I'm absolutely sure it's the adapter. The stand has probably got one built in so unless you remove that they won't fit. Try getting a pair of pliers on it.
