There might be Q.A. inspection rubber stamps on the body and neck to suggest a more precise date range. Unfortunately, it would be necessary to partially dismantle the instrument to view these.
The internet says:
"What we do know about the early Korean days was that there were three different plants: the Samick plant, the Young Chang plant, and the Sung-Eum plant. Guitars produced by Samick used a serial number starting with an "S" followed by six digits. Usually the first digit represented the year of production."
So probably '89
