How many times will I buy a les paul

What's Hot
Before I realise that I don't get on with les pauls.

Latest is a beautiful 58 historic vos lemon burst. Stunning guitar but I should have bought a 335 historic burst

Just saying

I have had 4. Bought a strat. No more.

  • Yeah I’ve had four as well. When funds allow, I’m tempted to take a punt on a fifth.

Inevitably I won’t get on with it either and will move it on....

Why not a PRS? Les Pauls are pretty crude really. Like a solid archtop in design, no body contours nor trem, weak headstocks, angled string pull over the nut and limited upper fret access. PRS solved most of these "problems".

I had one very similar. Looked stunning. Sadly I just don't get on with Les Paul's...

That is a lovely looking guitar. Congratulations.

of course you were quite right, you should have got a 335. Everyone knows the best sounding guitars are 335s.

I’ve had to go through 3 Les Paul (shaped) guitars to confirm that I will never get on with the neck heel specifically.

Shame as I quite like the way it sits and the neck angle. Maybe I can try an axess one day, but it’s a very expensive experiment!

    are you sure ?

I dare say you are not the first and I bet you won't be the last - I think I mentioned to you before that I've struggled to find an LP that I can bond with and I've been at it for 40 years or more - I love nearly everything there is to love about an LP but I just can't get on with the feel/playing performance - At times, I think I'm okay playing one, then I go back to my PRS is just prefer the feel/playing performance of it  just more slick and the LP is more of a challenge - to me at least

Les Paul High Performance sounds like it'd be worth you checking out.

You really need a Yamaha SG.

Les Paul killer, and even boasts a body contour on the back. ;)

That’s the second time an SG has been suggested in recent weeks. Of the current standard models I’ve seen nothing has looked that well built.

I’ve had a stupid amount of strats. I really tried to get on with them. Admitted defeat.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I struggled with the weight of my Yamaha SG (fabulous Guitar), but the neck heel was a definite improvement upon the Les Paul. As long as you can get the action low, then the rest doesn't really concern me.

Yamaha SGs and Les Pauls have character, whereas the tone of my PRS SC58 was just plain meh...And £3K...
