Will a T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior fit under a PedalTrain Nano Plus?

Thinking of building a small board and using a PedalTrain Nano Plus. I already have a T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior, so wondering if anyone has this combo. Does the Fuel Tank fit underneath?

Cioks DC5 is 31mm height, TREX is 35mm height. Not sure.

Give me a mo - I'll go see how much clearance I get under the Cioks.

    Anyone know this?
Will it fit or will it not? :-)

  • I've read it will only if you add taller feet. Stock, no.

Yes seen the vid. Wondering if the "plus" version might have slightly different dimensions,

The clear height beneath a PT Nano/Nano+ is 32mm including the 10mm high rubber feet. I believe the Fuel Tank Jnr is 35.5mm deep so will not fit. The Cioks DC-5 and Adam are 31mm deep so will fit.

The rubber feet of the Nano/Nano+ are riveted on. The rivets have a 10mm dia flange so are probably 4.8mm dia. They'll need drilling out to fit taller rubber feet  -  probably 15mm high. Alternatively additional taller feet could be fixed alongside the existing ones using self-tapping screws. Either way there's a bit of work to do to use a Fuel Tank Jnr.

    Thank-you for that info, @Jimbro66 ; That's what I needed to know.

I used some chair feet rom B&Q and superglued them over the back feet. Then the fuel tank jr fits perfectly. No need to mess about drilling and re-riveting. Ignore the electrical tape, it was just to keep them in situ whilst gluing.

Nice one @rico ! I'll try that. Can you remember the chair feet you used?

I think they were these - there are a few different sizes so might be worth double checking.

It's also OK to drill holes into the PT boards - you have to on the larger ones to fit their branded PSU fittings (which come with the self-tapping screws).

    Excellente! Nano+ here I come...

BTW - just how far does the fuel tank jr protrude out beyond the regular feet? And, is there enough width in the Pedaltrain for the fuel tank's 9v cables?

It's probably about 5 mm or so - I would measure but that board has since been sold!

The 9v cables fit in perfectly with a few mm to spare:

PS: there was velcro between the power supply and board, not just the sole cable tie!
