No front number plate...??

Seems to be a growing trend at the moment to remove the front plate and stick it on the dash in the window in some vain effort to make old Matt black Audi;s and the like look cool, I saw one today with the plate bolted underneath one of the headlights.

Im guessing the local plod dont even notice.

I've seen quite a few Lamborghinis without any front number plate at all.

I don't know how they get away with it.

Generally if they pull you for having a dodgy plate (incorrect font / spacing / placement) they give you 7 days to rectify it and show up at your local nick to prove you've done it. 

A mate of mine kept two sets of plates for this reason. He'd have his bell end identifier ones on most of the time, but put the legit ones on whenever he had to produce. Got away with it for years.

I believe thats a fixed Penalty Offence but as there are never any Patrol Cars about, no one ever seems to be stopped

Given people never get pulled over for having illegal plates does it matter if mine are manky and can't be read? Seems pointless buying new ones when it doesn't matter.

I do actually have a private plate, purely because I had a laptop shoved under my very drunk face at a party about 20 years ago and had money in my account. I've never done any of that funny spacing or dots or weird fonts shit and mine is actually my name.

Actually, the fine for driving with incorrectly displayed number plates is up to £1000:
