I love this riff. Can someone please give me an idea of what notes he's playing - I've worked out some, but not enough.

You certainly were.  After driving myself nuts with it last night, I noticed that even JS admitted that his own tab was incorrect.  Still trying to nail the groove but it's a cool riff, and your stab at it was damn close.
