Recording the audio output of my Android tablet through the headphone jack.

I've got a nifty chord/scale/harmonizing app on it that I think may come in useful for prototyping new ideas, so how do I get the output from my tablet into my audio interface/DAW?

I've got a fair idea, but just to want to hear from the pros before I order any cables

Get one of these if your audio interface has jack inputs

I've got balanced XLR mic preamp inputs, balanced TRS line-level inputs, and also unbalanced TS instrument inputs on my audio interface.

It doesn't have to be studio quality as I only want to layout some chords and stuff on a guide track.

Yep, you can spin off new ideas in next to no time, and all the info you require is there at your finger tips.

Of course you can also just use it as a handy chord/scale reference if you wish.

The Behringer UCA 202 is ideal for this task. It uses RCA phono connectors for ins and outs so you will need an RCA to stereo 3.5mm jack plug cable.

The device uses 'generic' USB drivers so it should be PnPlay into a PC (tho' you might need to do some fnaggling in the Windows sound boxes) Software (called a 'DAW') ? Audacity is fine but do seek out MAGIX Samplitude pro X Silver.

    Any bother, PM me.

    Dave.
