Provisionally sold: Fender 50s Baja Telecaster

Fender 50s Baja Telecaster in the fairly rare sunburst finish. £550 NOW £520 £500 collected near Ipswich (can potentially meet up somewhere if possible).

I'm sure i'll regret selling this fairly quickly as it's a brilliant guitar but I seem to favour my PRS guitars over it and it deserves to be played so here it is.

Excellent condition. No scratches or dings. Amazing custom shop pickups (Broadcaster bridge and Twisted Tele neck) plus S1 switching. Best telecaster under a grand by a mile!

I'm sorry to ask the question that is always asked regarding Baja Teles .....but... how much does it weigh?

I've got the 60s Baja.  Do you have any idea how different the two are tonally?  I can see the necks are different but that's not a big issue.  Do I need two Teles?

It’s up to you! From what I read the 50s is the more highly regarded and more classic tele sounding. Love the look of the 60s though with that faded sonic blue. I could end up trying one of those at some point ;-)

By the way the weight is 8lb1oz according to my kitchen scales and that’s including the strap so I guess pretty much 8lb for the guitar alone.

As a tele aficionado I would say it's the best tele there is .........the only thing that beats it is a custom shop Nocaster.
Some can be a bit heavy for some reason but they are still wonderful.

Mine is quite light, it's one of those white blonde FSR models. Maybe I got lucky? Anyway, I'll back up what you say, they are great guitars. I don't know what I would replace it with Tele-wise, so it's probably staying put, but I do like the finish on this one.

This is 8lb which is a pretty good weight for one of these. I used to have a pine classic vibe 50s and that was way heavier. This one feels comfortable playing standing for a long period. 

I just know I’ll regret selling it at some point in the future but it doesn’t get played as much as my PRS’ and it deserves some love.

Ive got one of the limited Lake Placid Blue ones.  It’s got an ash body, so heavier than the swamp ash butterscotch ones, but a fantastic tele non the less.
