SORTED....Converting a Fender Classic Player Baja Tele into an Esquire

I am on the lookout for an Esquire wiring loom to convert my Tele.

I see someone called the Rhoadhouse on eBay selling a 5 way for about £70. Anyone have any knowledge of that loom?

Initially I’m going to use the existing Alegree Cirrostratus bridge pickup I have in the guitar.

Any recommendations?

5 way on an Esquire? What are all the positions for? Part of the fun is the minimalism!

I've got an Oil City Eldred Esquire harness in my partscaster. ("Cocked wah", normal & tone bypass)
It's excellent- quality components & beautiful soldering... It's almost a shame that it's hidden in the body of the guitar! (It came with a REALLY clear wiring diagram too- which is nice).

I'm sure Ash could accommodate any specific requirements you had...

A friend of mine had his Strat fitted with new pickups, pots, etc at Rhoadhouse, and is pleased with the quality of the work. I may have one of their business cards somewhere which has a phone number - I'll have a look later. They're based in Heathfield, East Sussex.

    Edit. Phone is 07795 035729

I've never dealt with Rhoadhouse myself so can only go by what my mate says. They also go by the name FS Guitar's.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Indeed. I'm currently Esquire'ing a MIM Tele and, in my quest for minimalism, will be ditching the blade switch altogether.

I’m leaning towards a 3 way with the Eldred cocked wah mod.

  • £70 sounds very expensive when you consider the price of the components.

    It's a 5-way so that's like, 67% more than just 3
