    Just a suggestion, but I can definitely recommend the Bareknuckle VHII for a balanced treb/mid and tight low end response.

    I play 80s hair rock, and the VHII works beautifully in the bridges of my superstrats

    @delorean Thanks for the recommendation.
    I've also seen that an SD Alnico 2 might do the job, I'll add them to the list.

    Got an sd 59, chrome covered that I’m about to swap out of a guitar. Must be honest haven’t checked if it’s 2 or 4 wires or the colours under the hood but may be of use to you. Pop me a pm if your interested.

    I've got a few hundred quid for the neck pickup out of Jimmy Page's early LP. :)

    Anything else would depend on make, model and condition. @Funkfingers ; Have you got something that fits the bill?

    Hello. Yes. Apologies for tardy reply. I changed my notification settings.

    Seymour Duncan OEM short lugs SH-1N '59, cream/black, nickel plated screws, new typeface pad-printed logo. Never been soldered into anything. No packaging. The pickup was sent to my local Charvel dealership in error. (He required an STK-S4N for a warranty repair on a hardtail San Dimas.) I have spare pickup boxes for shipping.

    Thanks a lot Funkfingers but i've had a couple of '59 owners tell me they are a bit scoped & arn't quite what i'm after. I've updated the thread.

    No worries. I have a probable outlet for the pickup locally.

    FWIIW, the midrange scoop can be cured by the simple expedient of changing the bar magnet from A5 to A4.

    Pretty much as easy as humbucker mods come if it's uncovered.

    And, yet, still possible to get wrong. ;)

    Well, it does purport to replicate a pickup design originally intended to suit Jazz guitars. It is supposed to have the metal cover on it and the polepiece screws are supposed to be adjusted upwards to compensate for output imbalances from string to string.

    I would not be surprised if at least one of your '59N owner friends has all six polepiece screws set almost as low as they will go and with the slots all aligned perpendicular to the string path.

    Is a DiMarzio D Activator (DP219 - Neck) of any interest? Description matches your frequency requirements. Kinda fits with the Evo and S1 as well.

    Got a Duncan Distortion neck I'm thinking of getting rid of if it's of any interest to you?
