Everyone that entered deserves at least a point IMO but as the rules don't allow here are my points:
5 points - @ChrisRG - melodic with great use of different tones
3 points - @stratman3142
1 point - @poopot - playing to the tune. Perhaps a safe approach but very well executed
5 Points - @stratman3142 ; Impeccable riffing!
3 Points - @poopot Completely different approach that works.
1 Point - @ChrisRG Another surprise with experimental effects use.
“Theory is something that is written down after the music has been made so we can explain it to others”– Levi Clay
5 points - @stratman3142 - Another very well played solo. Some shameless shredding in there for good measure
3 points - @poopot - Really like the approach. The playing really suited the track although maybe needed a little more solo to push it into top spot for me.
1 point - @flying_pie - great to hear something different. Reminded me of War of the Worlds.
5 points - @ChrisRG A solo of two halves. Nice modulation effects and melodies during the first half, building to a melodic sustaining tone in the second half, which kept things varied and interesting. I really liked the rhythmic phrasing of the second half. This is just personal taste (and ultra picky), but I would have liked to hear more rhythmic phrasing on the clean modulated sound in the first half, which sounded a bit rhythmically square (8th note centric) at times. But overall a good solo that fitted the backing.
3 points - @poopot Good to hear a funky rhythm guitar solo, which fitted really well. In fact so well, that I originally got things mixed up and recorded my first solo over the version with your rhythm guitar. So I had to do it again, but for a moment I wondered whether we should have made it a joint entry.
1 point - @flying_pie How I imagine Ernie Isley would sound, let loose with a whammy pedal Very imaginative and synth like.
1) @ChrisRG
2) @stratman3142
3) @flying_pie
again, hard to choose to be fair... all good entries!...
3 points @ChrisRG
1 point @flying_pie
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
5 for @ChrisRG different sounds suited the backing track for me.
3 for @stratman3142 i think you have done this before
1 for @poopot nice funky sound suited the track as well
3 Points @poopot
1 Point @ChrisRG
5 points - @ChrisRG Nice use of effects with a cool melody, second half of the solo developed nicely to it's conclusion.
3 points - @stratman3142 Great trem work here and great chops on display!
1 point - @poopot I like the funk rhythm approach a la Nile Rogers, so that'll always go down well with me
Some great stuff all round.
