I just caught the last performer, and eventual winner Lauren Zhang playing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto no 2. Mesmerising stuff. They did a great job of filming as well to keep the shot changing. I'll look forward to seeing that again on iPlayer.

Bloody hard piece of music, apparently one of the most technically challenging.

Yeah, incredible. The cadenza at the end of the first movement left me speechless. Unbelievable playing from someone so young. Worthy winner!

Yeah watched the whole thing from the category finals.  The standard was very high, but Lauren was a worthy winner I thought, truly exceptional.

Mind boggling that kids that age can play as well as that.  Puts the claims to virtuosity by some rock luminaries in perspective.
