Not interested in the satin finished tribute models though. USA range only. Won't be able to afford any custom shop models either!

Have you tried the satin tribute model? I have one along with other standards etc and for the money it’s a very good guitar, unless you’ve tried one i wouldn’t rule it out.

FWIW, I have one of the very first tributes. I had the option of an R7 two years ago - I preferred the sound and weight of my tribute.
A few on here have played and heard it in anger - it’s truly a great guitar irrespective of price, origin or anything else. I wouldn’t part with it.

Oh and the satin thing - I polished mine so it now looks like old nitro.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Based on this advice I won't rule out a tribute model without at least trying it! Really not a fan of satin finishes though...

The finish on mine is certainly not as Matt as it used to be so they do go kind of shiny in time
