Song suggestions please

Hi, after a few songs in the vein of...

The Weight (The Band)
One For The Road (Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance)
Moonlight Shadow (Mike Oldfield)

...for a one-off small gig. Band will probably consist of two electric guitars, bass, and percussion (at this point probably not a full drum kit - more likely bongos etc). Not the kind of thing I particularly listen to so any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Dunno what your audience is like but if you can get away with a song with a long, steady build, just playing unobtrusively at first... but one of those numbers which draws people in...

Beta Band - "Dry The Rain"

All great suggestions - I'd never heard Beta Band before but that's an excellent piece thanks Grunfeld. I found a YouTube vid of JJ Cale playing 'They Call Me The Breeze' with Eric Clapton, presumably at one of the Crossroads concerts and will almost certainly use the song (although I could never hope to look quite as effortlessly cool as JJ manages!). Stuck in the middle a good suggestion too and everyone will be familiar with it which is always good. Thanks guys.

Not quite sure why but thinking Creedence Clearwater Revival here. Obviously a couple of theirs have been flogged to death but I heard Fortunate Son the other day ( semi flogged to death I guess)and it is such a tremendous song.

You might consider 'Crazy little thing called love' (Queen) which humps along nicely. Another in that vain would be 'Faith' (Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou)

Trying to think of numbers that lots of punters will know...

Don't Let Me Down - The Beatles - same kind of tempo and vibe as The Weight.
Fleetwood Mac 'Go Your Own Way' for a bit of a Moonlight Shadow vibe
Stay With Me by The Faces?

EDIT - Actually 'Answering Bell' by Ryan Adams has a very 'The Weight' vibe. Formerly obscure, but then it featured very prominently in the film 'Bridesmaids' recently.

'Stay with me' and 'You can make me dance sing and anything' were two I thought about too.
