Solo of the Month (SotM) #39 - Chat

This is the 39th solo of the Month (SotM) Challenge.

The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 11:30pm on 24th August 2018.

Here's this month's backing track (you can download it from soundcloud). Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk

Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

Discussion: This one is based on a request from @fastonebaz for something slow and bluesy.

Title: No More Trill (music for hungry budgies)

Chords: Twice through the following sequence:

Bm  Bm  Bm  Bm

G   F#7 Bm  Bm

The backing track has headroom to add your solos. Add your solo and (as a guideline) try to avoid boosting the overall level beyond that if possible. That way the entries should be at roughly the same level and we won't get into loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline of 24th August 2018, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

Voting will end on 11.30pm 31st August 2018

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends. If there are 8 or more entries, then the order and scores of those in the top half will be announced.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

I'm not too sure what scales to use for a bird based pun track. Would a mynah scale work?

It's probably easier just to do a swift entry by robin classic licks from the likes of Owling Wolf, The Eagles, Black Crowes etc with a bit of chicken picking...

Will get something across ASAP... have spent all my time editing video for clients... when will they realise there are more important things to do?

I might get in on this, but I will have to be careful not to play BB King licks, it sounds very "Thrill Is Gone".

Really need to get my arse in gear and crack on. Had the track up on my DAW for a week now and still not sorted it!

Punk....was going to suggest funk. Not sure I’ll make next month though as I’m out of the country for a good chunk of it.
