If you have a Sky box have a look at channel 192. From about 9pm for a few hours each night under the name of Heyday TV they have music documentaries, generally about an hour long and focusing on an album or a band. They used to on a year or two ago but disappeared (as has Vintage TV, the only decent music channel on Sky).
They're not brilliantly-made but they are entertaining. the other night there was one about the first ELO album, not the sort of thing you'd find anywhere else on the telly, really. And usually much more entertaining than the standard cookery/singing/dancing/medical/police/relaity cack that's served up.
