Some are done black on the edge, but I think that looks worse

look at how many of Gibson’s bursts rely on the same colour palette, for the faded look of an actual “unburst”
I don’t disagree at all. I guess it’s the idea of green fading to any other colour that doesn’t do it for me ;)
Many of the blue Epi’s they did in the 90’s changed colour pretty quickly.   If you see a purple or pink  one it probably started as blue.   Green isn’t as much of an issue

No that doesn't do it for me either, yellow to green for instance reminds me of one of those ice lollies, but I do like this one, it's quite subtle compared to most.

Hang on a minute.  When Gibson released the 2017 LP Classic in green, everyone was very sniffy about it; now we all love green.  WTF?
Well, of the nine members who have so far posted in this thread only one seems to be keen on green, so not much love around here. I couldn't wait to see my puke sunburst vanish behind a lovely coat of Shoreline Gold.

    I liked that green classic.

Was hoping the hate would mean 2nd hand bargains, but not yet!

I’d say no home is complete without a green guitar. And while I’m more a fan of the pastels, green is always good in my book :)

Green guitars are awesome. I’m partial to a bit of surf green on a Tele

Green guitars are indeed awesome. But like alcohol, if you mix it you usually end up crying to Huey

    £827 at the moment.

I’d be torn between this colour and a very similar MH-1000nt model in purple with the quilted maple..

    So much temptation.

    So hard to resist!!

I noticed the Green Epi as 100 quid or so more than its other , less Green counterparts. What are the Plustop Pros like, anyone got one?

Sorry @robgilo I didn't mean to give you a LOL!

  • I really like that green burst Epi...

Surely the coolest green guitars are the seafoam ones?
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

They are pretty nice, I've got the Custom Pro which is very similar.  The probucker pickups sound really good.

The main downside with high-end Epis is that in price they approach a Gibson Studio Faded and the Studio Faded I've got is a better guitar than the Epi, just...

Also more options, you get a coil split for both pickups, on the custom you also get a phase switch for the bluesy tones.

Not as pretty though and there isn't much in it!
