I saw a Fiat 500 the other day in a kind of beigey coffee colour and wondered the exact same thing. Guess it's a theft prevention thing ;-)

There's a surprising number of weird, metallic browns around now. And ginger. When there's so many other, nice colours, you have to wonder why.

Why is it that every facade there are a bunch of designers/artists who believe that can bring back the worst dacade in history back successfully Why not the 60s or the 80s?
90s/00s/10s have been pretty much the same.

My Renault Scenic is metallic brown - they officially call it 'Bronze', but nah... it's brown. Not an offensive shade of brown, but still brown. It's unlikely I would have chosen it if I was buying the car new, but I honestly don't mind it now. It was cheap, and in great condition for its age and mileage... whether the cheapness had anything to do with the colour, I neither know nor care!

You’re not wrong.

Especially as I bought it to replace my pride and joy Sierra, that someone wrote off, and that I had spent a lot of time on, including having it painted Ford Velvet (Cadbury’s) Purple.

One of my smart arse mates upon seeing the new brown one was ‘he has taken the wrapper off!’

It was replaced within a few months for a Sierra XR4i in red, which shut them up.

^This. I've actually just ordered a Civic in metallic blue. After recently walking into town and realising that just about every car i saw was black/white/silver/grey I decided that should I ever be in the market for a new car it would have to be something with a bit of colour to it.

"Metallic Poo Brown", as it's been known in our house for a while now. 

I can understand on a second hand Fiesta when a MPB one is 500 quid cheaper than a red one. But the thought of buying a brand new fucking Porsche/BMW/Mercedes and paying extra for METALLIC POO BROWN is hilarious.

Our neighbour has a brand new car in “mocha”... which is basically poo brown. It does have gold metalflake mixed in with it which makes it look marginally better in bright sunlight. They like a bargain so I suspect they got it cheap because nobody else wanted it.

I had a yellow one of those. I worked in a washer factory that had a laser cutter, so I got the word “Banana” cut out in stainless steel in the Ghia font and screwed it onto the back of the car. That was my favourite car, I loved it.
