Yes although she ended up typecast because of "Screaming" to her distaste a career defining performance.

I didnt realise until reading her obit she was offered the lead in Cleo and turned it down.

Just reading the obit on the BBC site. Very complex life and potentially an actor of much greater renown than she really achieved. RIP.

Same as a lot of them, especially Kenneth Williams & Charles Hawtrey.

Thought FF and Joan Greenwood before her were amongst the sexiest post war actresses.

You can add Harry H Corbett to that list too. A top quality Shakespearean actor that got pigeonholed by playing Steptoe.
