SOLD - Roland VS-2480 digital mulitracker

24 simultaneous tracks (384 virtual tracks for comping backing vocals, recording multiple takes, etc), mixer with flying faders and mix automation, Built-in dynamics and EQ processing for all inputs and all recorded tracks. If you add a mouse and keyboard and VGA screen (all sockets are there ready), you get DAW-like control over all settings, track drag-drop operations. waveform editing, etc.
Analogue IO runs to 16 inputs (8 with XLRs, one with guitar Hi-Z), multiple sends, two sets of headphones, etc.Digital IO includes: SCSI, R-BUS (two sets, for another 8in/out for each), SPDIF coaxial and optical, MIDI. If you want to connect it to your computer, there are a couple of options: use Roland's R-BUS to ADAT converter to connect to your interface; or use the RPC-1 PCI card to add an R-BUS connector to your PC. Bear in mind the latter, will involve some OS/driver shenanigans.
It was my back-up VS-2480, it's been sitting in a flight case, unused
for a few years, got it out and it's in perfect working order. Some scrapes and small dents here and there, but not thrashed.

(There's one reason why it's so cheap: the previous owner was a smoker.
It's not stinky, but it's noticeable. Perhaps if it's out of the flight
case for long enough it'll fade. But, as you can imagine, I CBA with
Ebay eejuts on this point.)
