    I used to have a couple of great compilations but can't seem to find them on apple.... A Far Cry from  the Dead has a lot of great songs ...so does The Late Great Townes Van Zandt... released while he was still alive !! Happy exploring... you won't be disappointed.. one the greatest.

    He has a large catalog of work, including many live perfs that seem little more than poor quality bootleg recordings. Although I'd been aware of his rep for many years I'd never listened to him in any depth. Considering he led such a disorganised life, his song writing displays real application as well as bags of talent as a singer and player.

    Live at the old quarter is truly great. I'm listening to TVZ right now. I've got the Texas Troubadour box set which was about £15 and has 7 albums plus extras.
    Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.
