I’d have said Leslie West, or Live at Leeds era Pete Townsend but have just come across this...

...which somehow manages to be warm, full, and articulate all at once. Ok I realise there’s a lot of delay going on here but IMHO it does sounds rather good.

I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • Leslie West on Mississippi Queen is my favourite guitar tone of all time.

  • Not that keen on the song but I just love simple guitars like LP Juniors, SG Juniors, Esquires  and Telecasters.  I think that Leslie West once described a LP Junior as a tree with strings .

  • Half a million bucks worth of backline should get you at least a workable sound.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

Sounds lovely. I already have one P90 guitar, albeit a hollow body. Doesn't sound like that though.

Now I want LP jr...although the Dumble may also have something to do with it. And the technique. At least if I have the guitar then that's one out of three.

Just love this and Charlie Starr's use of volume to change the sound

I've a little P90 Fender MP Jag I picked up in mint condition for buttons.

The range of tone, from the bridge pickup with the tone up full, to the neck pickup with the tone rolled right off, and everything inbetween, is impressive, and great fun. Unlike other Jags, the controls are very simple, 3 way switch, one tone, one volume, but you can get a mega variety of sounds out of it.

If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.
