so I’ve had a hankering for a while and so I picked this up second hand from Coda yesterday... It’s a 2007 custom in Honeyburst , Sitka spruce top with quilted Bubinga back and sides . It’s a cracking strummer !

    Beautiful!

I saw that listed and wished I hadn’t already overspent recently!  My next acoustic will be a J45 and that one looks a cracker.

Interesting! What does it sound like compared to a mahogany J-45? Bubinga is more commonly used as a rosewood alternative, eg by Rickenbacker for fingerboards.

Not quite what you asked, but my Brook Taw is Bubinga back/sides with a Spruce top. I tried it in the shop against a Rosewood/Spruce Taw (amongst others) and preferred and bought it. More direct, clearer tone and it seemed to sing out more.   Even my wife could tell the difference.... Same strings in similar-looking condition, too, BTW.

Lovely Guitar and probably just opened up the tone nicely after 10 years of playing.

    Great score.
