R.I.P. Steve Ripley, luthier and inventor of the Ripley Stereo Guitar

Steve Ripley, leader of the country-rock band The Tractors and inventor of the Ripley Stereo Guitar, has died at the age of 69.

I think he may be best known for his assocation with Eddie Van Halen, but he has designed and built some amazing instruments.  I was given a really nice book about his guitars many years ago, and though I've never actually played any of his instruments, he does seem to have been a very talented guy.
