with a modelling unit?

theres loads of these compact speakers available now, mostly designed for giving your iPod some volume, so how suitable would they be for amping up a helix at home?

discuss! Go!

Somebody here (@Cabicular maybe) was using a little Bose speaker with Helix and rated it.

  • I used one for a while that was a small sound bar with a bass woofer and it sounded quite good but not as space saving as you might think as the woofer was quite chunky. It was actually quite "flattering" compared to the same presets through proper monitors, I presume in the same way recorded stuff can't be judged monitoring via iPod type speakers

I have always thought of the Yamaha thr amps as being iPod speakers with amp modelling
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

    That could have been me...

I use a Bose Soundlink for playing around the house and building patches etc, sounds OK to me and actually EQ wise translates well into the PA

Dunno, but a Marshall Kilburn works pretty well.

I bought a cheapo one from Sainsburys for this very purpose. Sounds OK as a low volume sofa set up, ping pong delay is quite effective with it sat on the coffee table right in front of you.

Not amazing, but better than wearing headphones.
