They've really impressed me.  I remember hearing the first single on Radio 6 and thinking it reminded me of Audioslave (really big and solid sound), then when I heard they were just a two piece I couldn't quite believe it at first.

    Just checked them out.
Sound much bigger than just a duo.

Vocally very Matt Bellamy-esque but less whiney.
I like this band a lot.

Really? What?! They're only drum/bass/vocals?! Shit! I saw one of their music vids on Headbanger's Ball not so long ago. Loved it. But didn't pay that close attention to what was happening in the actual video! Wow!

If you like Royal Blood... perhaps consider checking out KING OF THE NORTH. Australian band. Guitar/vocals/drums only (2-piece):

    Hope the video works...

So, you're also Australian and your name starts with Octa.
Are you my stalker or a future version of me?

The new and improved future version @octatonic ;)

    hahaha

My username is the title of my favourite Mars Volta album!! I was just browsing through my CD collection trying to pick a name... so many possibilities. It was that or TheDevilPutDinosaursHere (Alice in Chains) but that might've been too long to be accepted or just too long to type! Was toying with many ideas blueskynoise, justpushplay, daysgoby... but settled for Octahedron!

Where are you from in Aus?

Royal Blood remind me of early Black Keys, not the recent more poppy stuff.

Love these guys!  A good friend of mine used to be a band with the drummer, so been to some tiny gigs - he's a beast!

Anyone heard the new singles? Sound pretty good (but only listened to them a couple of times so far). Really looking forward to new album though. They are a fantastic band. Video of a recent concert in Toronto below.

FINALLY listened to "Hook Line & Sinker" - love it!
    So good.
And I had heard "Where Are You Now?" ages ago, as I got the digital single, which is on some compilation as well from a HBO series and is also on the new album.

The riff for Hook... is very cool.

Looking forward to the album. Not long to go!

  • Listened to their album in the lab this morning. I like it.
I think it sounds quite White Stripesish.

I always think they sound like they are putting in a hell of a lot of effort but not really doing anything at all for me, I'm afraid I just don't get it. Lots of quaver power chord bashing to my ears.

And I say that as a big white stripes fan
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me
