I'll never understand some manufacturers naming conventions.

The name Fender should be enough to sell these things. Fender Chorus, Fender Overdrive etc. That's so much classier than "Downtown Express" (FFS!) in my opinion.

I do like the way they've staggered the input and outputs so that you can fit their pedals closer together though. Shame I can't see anyone ever buying two of these.

The rest of the pedals already out in this range are getting good reviews. So I wouldn't dismiss them over just a name.

Could be worse, Supro's new analogue delay is called 'Delay'

Any chance they could make them a bit fucking bigger? I was worried about being able to fit more than 2 pedals on my board.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

  • I'm calling 2019 as the year of harmonic tremolo.

Mainstream by summer, played out by Christmas.

They spend tonnes on advertising. No magazine would risk loosing all that revenue by giving these pedals terrible reviews. I used to work in advertising, and saw first hand a major advertiser threaten a magazine, and get exactly what they wanted.

They may may well be very good, but they’re not for me. I prefer a specialist in that field to someone with lots of fingers in lots of pies.

For example, my brother in law loves his Gucci watch he got for Xmas, but Gucci are not world famous for watch movement design, or quart based chronological discoveries, they make overly ornate clothing therefor, their watch brand is valueless to me, pointless.   A Timex, Seiko, Tag, Omega, Brietling, and Patek Philliippe are brands I value in that market, the Gucci watch will be a cheapy mass produced bottom of the range Chinese movement with ‘fancy’ watch face.

And, that’s my first thought on the new Fender pedals, they’ll be another brand with the Fender logo stuck on.  Not interested.

I would normally agree with Marlin (apart from maybe Tag in that list of watches), but it looks like Fender is putting some much more serious R&D money behind these. I don't know about the circuits in detail, but the feature sets of most pedals don't like them obviously to being a simple copy of anything else.

The current stuff looks like a different kettle of fish than the previous round of Fender pedals, which did *absolutely* look like cheap rubbish.

Its true, the old pedal looks like a £30 cheapy, and the new ones like a £300 Strymon.

But, i’d buy a Strymon over these, I know what to expect from Strymon (quality!), and the depreciation will be much easier to swallow.

I wish them luck, I hope they’re great, but I don’t trust them to be great. I expect them to be ‘good enough’.....

What a weird way to dismiss a product you've never tried, especially as it's from the only company who have always been genuine world leaders in both guitars and amps.

But then again, what do I know, I grew up on Wall's sausages and ice cream (they had to get rid of all that pig fat somehow).

I'd take a punt on these as they make their own circuit designs / DSP coding.

Unlike Mooer who just steal EHX stuff. ...

I don't like the colours or the aesthetics so I shan't be trying them. They could be the best sounding pedals in the world but I won't be sullying my board with any of them.

If there's any of the now-discontinued Boss/Fender reverb/amp sim pedals DNA in the Tre-Verb, it should be worth investigating.

It's a minor detail, but the illuminated markers on the knobs seem a really practicle 'players' feature I've not seen on any other pedal. Hopefully the rest of the pedal has as much R&D put into it. I'm assuming companies as big as Fender have big budgets when it comes to R&D and also tooling for production, and can realise concepts that smaller pedal makers can't justify financially.

Re. the light-up markers – yes, a nice touch, and you need them because the jewel light is brighter than the sun, or was on the Mirror Image I tried, at least. Made it difficult to see where I had the settings. The magnetic battery door is another genuinely useful thing.

I have couple of these pedals from last year. A lot of the comments regarding them are bizarre. If you rely on the ‘Lee Anderson/Chappers’ reviewing style where everything they sell is great then you really should know better. They’re good, well thought out and decently priced. Very practical for live work unless you’re the type of player that needs a hurricane of ‘out there’ pedal weirdness. I’ll be taking a very serious look at these new additions.
