Hi all

Selling everything up as I'm bored of guitar so hoping a clear out will help find me a better hobby.

Danelectro U2 reissue ejective guitar in cream. A few marks on the pick guard (see photo) and a few other dings but plays well. Currently set up to open G tuning with new strings but easily switched back to standard or dadgad. £150 (now sold on eBay for £200, somewhat inexplicably)

Collection or meet up in Birmingham city centre or bournville

Only trades i will consider are an EMG active pickup guitar, the pickups themselves, or a Variax

Thanks

  • These are really fun guitars to play. What period is this one mic or mim?

  • I think from googling the cream model was from the first batch of reissues from around 1999/2000 and were made in Korea - but I could be wrong on that. There seems no indication on the instrument itself as to where it was made

  • Looks like a Korean to me. I had one for a while. Good fun it was, too.

Played a later one at a school I worked at, a 59. No concentric pots. Weird wavy headstock. Not even close to being as nice.

Last one - is it the price that's putting people off? The location? The fact I'm an annoying little git?

    an annoying little git?
The only annoying thing about this phrase is the fact that the word should be "get". It only sounds like "git" in a Scouse accent.  :)

Only trades i will consider are an EMG active pickup guitar, the pickups themselves, or a Variax
    This implies one of the following;
    1. the exchange of a complete guitar for some pickups.
    2. the exchange of a complete guitar plus cash difference for another complete guitar with EMG pickups
    3. the exchange of a complete guitar plus cash difference for a Variax.
I might be able to assist with options 1 and 2.

Location, plus the fact I only saw it after the Brum gitar show.

Apologies for the delay @Funkfingers I've been mindlessly distracting myself from everything seemingly.

Thank you for that, unfortunately though it seems I forgot to update my trade preference as the prices for Emgs and variax guitars sends to have rocketed since I struggled to get rid of my last examples of each, hence presumably your meaning re uplifts.

In actual fact now I'm giving up on trying to solve my noise issues and the only trade I'd be after now would be a cheaper (although still playable) guitar of some description plus cash difference so I can sell my main one as well when I get round to it. Ideally less than the £100 mark. If it ends up putting me off playing forever then great as it means I can sell the rest of my remaining stuff then too!

    £100? Squier Affinity Stratocaster, perhaps?
