I don’t think I’ve seen this before on here, the book gets a lot of love on this forum and the small screen adaptation comes to Netflix in March.

Fingers crossed they don't leave much out from the book.... but this being something involving Motley Crue, I have a feeling it'll just be a quick production to rake in the money.

Trailer looked pretty good I thought though!

Absolutely LOVE the book so I'm looking forward to this, even if there is a risk of missing out some of the gorier bits. Only wish they made it as an eight part series instead of a movie because there is a lot to cram in.

Can't see the video as I'm at work, but I'm really keen to see the film. I've read The Dirt several times, and I've also got Vince Neal, Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx's books - all great reads. The biggest bunch of hedonistic bastards ever!  Gotta say that it was heartbreaking reading about Vince's young daughter dying, and Nikki's Heroin diaries - how is he still alive???? They are a fascinating band.

Well, the book came out in 2001 and they are only releasing the film in 2019, so it has only taken them 18 years. If I remember rightly they did mention in the book that when they make the film they want to "do it right" and not put out any old rubbish.

  • I hope they don't water it down like they did with Bohemian Rhapsody.

    Oh man, that looks amazing!

Loved the book but read it years ago - been hoping this film would eventually land. Can't wait!

Hardly the manifesto for their career.

Guns N' Roses called, they'd like a quick chat ;)

I love a good rock biog.  The Dirt, Slash's, Lemmy's 'White Line Fever', Anthony Keidis, and the grandaddy of the booze addiction, Clapton himself.

You wonder how any of them are still alive, but then you remember there are plenty of their contemporaries who aren't.

Wonder if it opens like the book, with Bullwinkle ;-)

Read the book several times.. being motley crew though I do hope the film lives up to the hype and is not a quick money grab..

I am so familiar with the Queen story that it was probably never going to work for me. However, I don't know much about the Crue and haven't read the book so I can just enjoy this as a film. Looks like they have made an attempt with the guitars although I look forward to someone explaining what they've got wrong in that department once the film is out.

    Thats tonight's viewing sorted then.
I hope they don't water it down like they did with Bohemian Rhapsody.
They will have to water it down, otherwise it would just be porn.

Funnily enough, whilst cruising IMDb, I saw this announced and I thought - is there an audience for a biopic about Motley Crue?
So my question has been answered then.

I’m away to watch this just now. Loved the book and it seems like this film has been in the pipeline in some form or another since forever.

IMDB ratings seem pretty good so far.

  • Halfway through it now. It's quite good, they come across as lovable idiots so far.
I've read the book too, so I know things are going to spiral soon.

FWIW I REALLY don't like their music, but it works really well in context.
